For The Love of Blogging

I just haven't felt like posting my thoughts on here lately.

Mostly, I have missed the intimacy of a private journal. Where my deepest thoughts are hidden and my real feelings and emotions can come forth without the fear of a backlash or truckload of negative comments.

There have been so many things that I have wanted to blog about, but I just decided not to.  I want a private journal again. And I think I will start one.

This may be a blog that turns into a place I turn to a couple of times a week.  Sharing family thoughts and life details.

And if none of you read this that is okay.  I no longer really care how many people read my blog.  I don't check my reader stats.  I haven't really kept up with it anyway.

This is just  the reality of my heart right now. I love blogging, but at the same time I don't.

A love/hate relationship at best.

*What are your thoughts toward blogging?  Do you love/hate it too?

Tiff~

Sounds typical feelings that all bloggers go through.
My frequency went way down last year when I went back to working in a “cube farm.” I had zero energy to keep up with my lite, MWF schedule.
Now that I’m back home working full time, I’m back on my schedule and finding a groove.
I love blogging, especially when there is interaction. I hate the pressure of finding topics to get to that MWF schedule and I’m not thrilled with the less-than-positive comments. However, not everyone is going to agree with you. In fact, I’ve found that the ones where people don’t agree with you, those are the posts that take off.
Sounds like you’re also struggling with transparency versus protecting your family’s privacy. I struggle with that all the time. I find there are so many things to blog about in that arena, but I don’t do that because I don’t need the world in my family’s business, so to speak. It’s a fine line.
Hang in there, friend. Those of us that enjoy your posts will stick around. The ones that don’t . . . well, so be it. It is what it is.
    God bless the Harpers!

I am right there with you! I feel like “write a blog post” is ALWAYS on my to-do list. Then night comes and I feel like I once again couldn’t manage to get all I wanted to done in a day. I DO realize blogging isn’t that important and the world keeps going whether I post or not.
I know you know what I mean!

Not exactly love/hate, it’s more of functionality. I would prefer blogs over journal writing when other people have something at stake with the content. Blogs are also more communicative and interactive, and some thoughts and experiences go well with pictures and comments from friends. Journals are more for the ideas I’m not ready to share YET.
The point is you should KEEP ON WRITING! Because it’s just something you love to do.
