I was so excited because yesterday I got to go on a field trip with my daughter. Madi was happy that I was able to go with her because, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to go on the last trip with her class.
Yesterday we headed out to Tanaka Farms and we got to pick fresh, gorgeous strawberries. The Harper household loves strawberries and they rarely last more than a few days. You can’t be slow to eat them in our house!
Madi and her cute friends did such a great job listening to their tour guide and picking out their own basket of strawberries. They also tried different types of veggies that you know they would have never tried at home! Madi loves Sugar Snap Peas. Who knew?!
I pigged out on the Celery and Carrots. Too bad they didn’t have any hummus close by. It would have been all over.
If you are ever in the Southern California area, you need to head over to Irvine and have a tour. It is a great place for your kids to see where food comes from and how it is cultivated from land to plate. A great educational tool especially for families who are trying to incorporate healthier eating habits into the routine.
Have you ever been to Tanaka Farms? Or any farms in your area? What did you enjoy the most?
