As I was working out yesterday, I played over and over again the song “You Make Me Brave” by Bethel Music. If you haven’t listened or heard of it, please go listen to it now.
It spoke to my heart. I love when God chooses seemingly mundane parts of my day to reach into those inner crevices of my heart and share His grace and love with me.
When I often need it the most.
During the mundane and routine, we forget that we can be brave. We can do big things. Sometimes, we can defy the odds and logic of everyday life.
Do you remember that He said that there is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear? (1 John 4:18)
And that He gave us a Spirit not of fear, but of power, love, and self-control? (2 Timothy 1:7)
We can be Brave.
It is Him who makes us brave to take a family of 4 from the normal living conditions of a home with wooden beams, to live in a 36′ trailer on a ranch to minister to those who struggle with addiction. Even when others will tell them it is not logical or even right to do that with a family. He makes us BRAVE.
It Is He who makes a girl brave enough to tell her story and write a book about her struggle with Anorexia, knowing that judgement and ridicule will follow. He makes us BRAVE.
It is He who makes to start a ministry, plant a church, go on a mission trip, minister to the inner city, to adopt an orphan, give up a lucrative career in order to pursue what God has called you to.
He makes us BRAVE. Because His love is perfect.
So have no fear in whatever it is God wants for your life.
